The Unnecessary Delight of Semicolons
This is ridiculous, but I find semicolons delightful; there, I’ve said it.
Not because they’re particularly useful (though they are). Not because they solve important problems (though they do). But because they exist at all - this strange punctuation mark that could easily not exist, and yet here it is, offering a particular kind of pause that nothing else quite captures.
